Woodworking 2 - Basic Hand Tool Skills
with Libby Schrum
Looking to add hand skills to your toolbox of woodworking knowledge? Power tools are great but learning how to sharpen and use chisels and a handsaw to cut a set of dovetails or a mortise and tenon joint will set your creations apart. Each student will build a small wall hung shelving unit - learning how to plan out a project, create and maintain a sharp cutting edge on chisels and hand planes, and layout/cut dovetail and mortise and tenon joints. You must have taken Libby's prior class in power tools or have comparable experience in order to take this class. There is a required tool list available online and with registration, as well as a materials fee of $40 (subject to market pricing) to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class. Class skips 12/27.
