The Past, Present and Future of Medical Care in the U.S. October Class
with Michael Shunney
What did medical care look like for previous generations? How does it actually operate now? What would a sustainable and effective system for the future look like? Knowing our history can help us untangle what was effective in the past from what wasn’t working well then. Studying how our system actually works can help us identify the strengths we have and the roadblocks we face under our current system. Investigating the recommendations of the many countrywide commissions and exploring some successful working models can give us a clearer vision of the system for which we would want to advocate. We’ll make use of films, books and knowledgeable speakers to educate ourselves about the future that our children and grandchildren expect us to leave as our legacy for their well being.
