with Susan Longley
Judge Susan W. Longley of Waldo County Probate Court hosts free “Probate Basics” workshops every fall. At these workshops, she explains such legal documents as an Advance Directive for Health Care, a Financial Power of Attorney and a Last Will and Testament which can ensure that your wishes will be honored. Judge Longley also provides legal forms free of charge. Though ethics prohibit her from providing individualized legal advice at these workshops, she uses her prior years of teaching to illustrate examples that will help each attendee learn or re-learn how to organize their legal life. Attendees often share information and learn from each other. No charge but please call to register. 1 night 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tues 10/3 CHRHS Rm 220 Judge Susan W. Longley began her professional career as a high school history teacher. A native of Lewiston, Maine, she chose this area after law school for its cycling trails and a job teaching law at Unity College. Subsequently, she served as Waldo County's State Senator and, for the past 12 years, as Waldo County Judge of Probate. When not helping folks realize the advantages of organizing their legal documents, she loves being in the Maine outdoors.
