Birding by Ear at Appleton Library
with Gary Roberts
Have you ever wondered what that bird is singing just out of view? Then join Maine Guide Gary Roberts for a 4 week class on bird identification not with binoculars or spotting scope, but by listening to a species individual song and calls. The class will start with a visual review of common birds of Maine, then each week we will listen to and practice identifying a selected number of birds by their songs and calls using recordings and common mnemonics. No charge but please call the Appleton Library at 785-5656 to register. 4 weeks 6:30-8:00 p.m. Begins Wed 9/20 Appleton Library 2916 Sennebec Road Appleton Registered Maine Guide Gary Roberts is a resident of Appleton and has been a volunteer naturalist, trip leader, and speaker for over 30 years.
