American Sign Language 2.5 - ASL for Intermediate Next Step
with Carrie Pierce
Students taking ASL 2.5 should have already experienced ASL 1 and 2 with a certified deaf ASL teacher at either the adult ed or college level. They need to have mastered the vocabulary and skills taught within those classes. This class will focus on the ASL grammar features learned in ASL 2, but within a broader context and a greater emphasis on conversational skills. ASL 2.5 will focus on role shifting, contrastive structure, appropriate response to questions, signs for work related environments and any specific skills needed by individual students in the class. Students will also work on including ASL grammar features for a children’s story of their choice. No class May 3. Registration $50. 6 weeks 5:30-7:30 p.m. Begins Thurs 4/26 CHRHS Rm 216 Carrie Pierce enjoys teaching ASL to people of all ages.
