Medical Assistants are responsible for a variety of medical office tasks from administrative to technical and scientific duties and must have quality human relations skills.   Some of the job duties include cleaning and dressing wounds, taking blood samples, administering medications, taking vitals, preparing a patient for EKGs, obtaining a patient’s history, and assisting physicians during examinations.  Our program provides virtual reality style classroom work as well as traditional style teaching for a blended learning experience.  Practicals are performed during the program to ensure that the student has proper techniques and will be ready to pass the National Certification.  Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CCMA (Clinical Certified Medical Assistant) national certification exams through NHA. Tuition includes national certification, 6 practice exams, online study guide materials, books, resume assistance, and all other associated fees.  Externships may be available in your area. Payment plans are available for all medical certificate programs.

This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding and provide you the skills needed to become nationally certified and get into the job market as a Certified Coder. This certificate program is taught by a Certified Medical Coder and includes Medical Terminology/Anatomy & Physiology for ICD-10 coding, CPC exam, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required.

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home. Strong typing, computer, and English grammar skills are essential.   Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, FTP, and tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee.  Classes are once a week for 16-weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6-month options.  This is a State Certified Program and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation. Resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program.  The course includes medical terminology, Anatomy & physiology and transcription.

The course runs either 16 weeks or up to 6 months.

Our communities are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.

Children’s behavioral health services are vital to Maine’s children with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great! As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.

We are excited to connect our communities with Woodfords Family Services for this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a waitlist for services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.

  • You will complete 12 online modules then two 4-hour live sessions. 
  • Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online bloodborne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. 
  • The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours.
  • Assistance with job placement is provided to anyone who completes the program.
  • Assistance with technology may be available.

 Prerequisites:

  • A high school diploma or equivalency. Proof of education is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course.
  • An administration fee of $25 is required at registration.
  • A reading comprehension assessment is required prior to completing the application, administered through your local Maine Adult Education program. This requirement may be waived by showing successful completion of a college-level English course.

Through a collaboration with Windward Gardens in Camden and Harbor Hill in Belfast, both owned and operated by Genesis Healthcare Corporation, you can earn while you learn.

This comprehensive blended five-week training program meets all requirements of the Maine State Board of Nursing and will have you secured into a position before starting.

Students without a high school diploma, or those who have been out of school for a while, are encouraged to apply. Academic training and support is provided.

Student Tuition: FREE for accepted applicants

Days/Time: Full day classes, 5 days per week, five weeks

Portions of this course are completed by remote lectures. Access to a computer with camera and microphone plus internet is required.

Group Fitness & Personal Training with AFAA/NASM Certifications

Looking for a new career?  Interested in changing lives of those around you?  How about a part-time career or to get paid to work out?  This program is designed to teach you everything you need to know to enter the health and fitness field as a group fitness instructor and/or personal trainer.  Our trainers are highly recognized in this field, with more than 20 years experience, and will provide you hands-on training to pass the national tests through AFAA.  The program is all-inclusive.  You may choose to complete both group fitness and personal training, or take one or the other.  Lectures are once a week for 10 or 20 weeks.  All materials included in fee including National Certification Exams. 

$1500 each, or $3000 for both certifications.
