This certificate program is taught by a Certified Medical Coder and includes Medical Terminology/Anatomy & Physiology for ICD-10 coding, CPC exam, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required.

History of Malaga Island, Maine 7.15.21

Malaga Island is a 41-acre island at the mouth of the New Meadows River in Casco Bay, ME. It was the site of an interracial community from the Civil War until 1911, when the residents were forcibly evicted from the island. Travel back in history and learn about who used the island before the colony, about the colony and its history, and then about it now. Finish by taking a virtual tour of the island today with Master Maine Guide, Alice Bean Andrenyak, who specializes in its tumultuous history. A question and answer time is planned at the end of the 90 minute presentation. This class is offered through video conferencing and pre-recorded video, in a combination of the two. Students must have an audio and video enabled computer, tablet or smartphone to participate. You will receive information about accessing the class prior to its start date.

You will see simple keyboard shortcuts and how to edit documents. Also, see a demonstration on paragraphs, margins, and how to fix unwanted vertical spacing. You will learn how to use tabs and tables properly and easily. Finally, gain knowledge of text boxes, page numbering, creating basic labels, and helpful page views. Are you interested in obtaining a USCG Captain's License? Do you want to learn the difference between an Operator Uninspected Passenge Vessel (OUPV) license and a Master 100GT license, and what experience the Coast Guard requires for each? This informational session will help answer these questions and other questions you may have about the two licenses.  Also discussed will be the different methods of completing the course requirements. This information session is free, but please register in advance so the instructor knows how many individuals will be attending. Both courses will be offered in fall 2021. Students must have reliable internet and audio and video-enabled computer, tablet, or smartphone to participate.
