Affordable Care Act: Enrolling for individual health insurance coverage in 2015 2.5.15

Free

with Tom Chester

Feb 5, 2015 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Open enrollment for 2015 under the Affordable Care Act ends on February 15. Health insurance specialists from Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden will help participants through the enrollment process and answer questions about plan choices. There are some very important prerequisites for this session. All participants must have an active email address and a user name and password at healthcare.gov, obtained either as part of enrolling in 2014 or as part of a preregistration activity for 2015. Without these, you cannot participate in this session. It is important to note that while preregistration can sometimes be done quite quickly at healthcare.gov, problems can occur, so attendees should plan ahead and not leave preregistration to the last moment. If you need help with this process, call Anna Moorman at Allen Insurance and Financial at 236-4311. Depending on schedules and availability, this class will be led by either Dan Wyman or Tom Chester with assistance from other staff at Allen Insurance and Financial. No charge but please call the Adult Ed office to register. 1 night 6:00-8:00 p.m. Class Thurs 2/5 CHRHS Rm 220 Dan Wyman manages the insured benefits division at Allen Insurance and Financial and works with businesses all over Maine on their health insurance and ancillary benefits. A graduate of Williams College and the University of Maine School of Law, he keeps the staff current on the intricacies of the Affordable Care Act. Tom Chester is a Certified Financial Planner® who works with Maine businesses and individuals across Maine on their financial and health insurance planning.
