This high school level introductory chemistry class, with lab, is designed for those needing chemistry for acceptance into college programs. This course qualifies as a lab science for college admissions. The instructor keeps this class rigorous, yet relaxed and supportive. Limited to 15 students. Registration $75, which includes all lab and textbook fees, waived if taken for high school diploma credit. This class meets Tuesday and Thursday. 7 weeks 5:00-8:00 p.m. Begins Tues 11/8 CHRHS Rm 317 This class is taught by Paul Desaulniers, a retired science teacher from Oceanside High School.
HiSET Preparation 2018-19

If you are an adult without a high school diploma, the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) program could be your route to improved career prospects, a college education and increased earnings potential. Adult diploma programs are central to the mission and tradition of Maine Adult Education. Get your diploma and be one step closer to achieving your life's goals! Our daytime learning center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:30-11:00 a.m. Begins September 4. Wednesday evenings sessions begin at 5:00-8:00 p.m. September 26 and will be at Camden Hills Regional High School. Adult Learning Center 7 Lions Ln. Camden at the Superintendent's building, also known as the "Bus Barn," behind the middle school in Camden. There is no fee for HiSET training or testing. Nancy Nickerson has her Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in teaching. She has been working in education for over 20 years, ranging from classrooms of elementary school students to college. Nancy has mentored student teachers from Thomas College, written curriculum in Language Arts and Math, and is an author of a children’s book. As an employment and community service specialist for FEDCAP she evaluated participants’ vocational and educational needs and participated in many community outreach committees. Nancy is excited to share her enthusiasm for learning with the adult learners in the community.
